This Privacy Policy describes how AI Article Agent ("we", "our", or "the extension") handles information when you use our Chrome extension and associated backend service.
1. Information We Collect
The extension collects only what is strictly necessary to operate:
- API keys — keys for Gemini, Serper, Claude, OpenAI, and DeepSeek that you voluntarily provide. These are transmitted over HTTPS and stored encrypted on our server.
- Topic files — the .xlsx files you upload containing article topics. These are stored temporarily on our server for processing.
- Configuration settings — brand name, author name, language preference, model selections, and per-step prompt instructions.
- Reference images — product or brand images you upload for use as visual references during image generation.
- Generated content — the HTML articles produced by the pipeline, stored temporarily on our server until downloaded or published.
2. How We Use Your Information
- API keys are used solely to make API calls to the respective AI providers on your behalf.
- Topic files and configuration are used to generate the articles you request.
- Generated content is stored on the server only until you download or publish it.
- We do not use any of your data for training AI models, advertising, or analytics.
3. Third-Party Services
When you use the extension, your content may be processed by the following third-party AI services, subject to their own privacy policies:
- Google Gemini API — ai.google.dev/terms
- Anthropic Claude API — anthropic.com/privacy
- OpenAI API — openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- DeepSeek API — deepseek.com/privacy
- Serper API — serper.dev/privacy — used for image and video search
- Google Drive API — used only when you choose Google Drive as the publish target, via your own Google account authorisation.
- Shopify API — used only when you choose Shopify as the publish target, via your own store credentials.
4. Data Storage and Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
- API keys are stored encrypted at rest on our server.
- Our server is hosted on AWS (Singapore region).
- We do not retain generated articles, topic files, or reference images beyond the duration of your active session.
5. Google OAuth and Drive Access
If you choose to publish to Google Drive, the extension requests access to your Google account via Chrome's identity API. We request only the drive.file scope, which limits access to files created by the extension. We do not access, read, or store any other files in your Google Drive. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google account settings.
6. Data Retention
- API keys and configuration are retained until you explicitly delete them via the extension.
- Topic files and generated articles are retained until you clear them via the extension or they are overwritten by a new upload.
- Reference images are retained until you delete them via the extension.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete all your data at any time by using the clear/delete functions in the extension.
- Revoke Google Drive access from your Google account at any time.
- Request deletion of all server-side data by contacting us at the email below.
8. Children's Privacy
This extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
